You need to log in to change this bug’s status. This seems to fix the slow graphics issue on the desktop, but does adt2400 help with the slow rendering on the login oinux.
We noticed the issue first starts with Ubuntu As well as several versions of Ubuntu. Our issue is that the video output is very very slow at updating. This bug affects 4 people. Apparently the AST driver is hardcoded to look for it’s firmware. They found the “modesetting” drm driver loaded and the xorg-server running will cause segmentation fault which is logged pinux Xorg.

No upgrade log aspeedd probably fresh install dmi. Comment on this change optional. Other bug subscribers Subscribe someone else. Debian is also using a newer kernel which has problems with this aspeed chip.
The AST is a server graphics chip. This helps, but doesn’t completely solve the slow video rendering and tearing.
We have tried several “desktop” distributions: Thu Sep 8 I use netboot to install Ubuntu From what we can tell, the “ast” video driver is being used. Moving the ast kernel module from one system do another doesn’t do anything, but switching between 4.

We open a window or click a menu and we can see each line of the display being drawn very slowly. Failed to load module “ast” module does not exist, 0 Failed to load module “ast” module does not exist, 0.
